The week is off to an exciting start with shows from Fendi, Marni, Alberta Ferretti, and Iceberg. The schedule is packed with 58 runway shows and a few digital presentations.
Fendi kicked off the week with a blend of modern luxury and nostalgia. Marni followed with its signature eclectic styles, while Alberta Ferretti continued to embrace ethereal femininity. Iceberg’s urban, sporty aesthetic brought a refreshing edge to the day. Beyond the runway, emerging designers such as Susan Fang, Federico Cina, and Phan Dang Hoang are also set to showcase innovative collections this week.
What I love about Milan Fashion Week is that it’s not just about the big brands. The Fashion Hub, launched on day one, supports new designers and fosters collaboration among industry professionals. Additionally, the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards on September 22 will spotlight sustainability efforts within the fashion world.
Here’s What to Look Forward To:
The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (The National Chamber for Italian Fashion) Graduate Show: The annual Milano Moda Graduate fashion show is happening today. Seven finalists from prestigious institutions, such as Istituto Modartech and Istituto Marangoni, will showcase their talent by presenting a collection of five outfits each. This platform serves as a launching pad for new voices in the Italian fashion scene, allowing them to demonstrate their unique vision and craftsmanship.
Big debuts & fresh talent: Susan Fang, supported by Dolce & Gabbana, and Federico Cina are among the exciting new designers to watch.
Returning brands: Brands like The Attico, known for their edgy, street-style presentations, and Andreadamo, known for its sensual, body-hugging designs, are highly anticipated. What I love about Andreadamo is their signature aesthetic, which revolves around second-skin knits and contoured silhouettes that celebrate the human form.
First-time runway shows: Fiorucci is set to debut its first-ever runway show. The brand is known for its playful, vibrant, and rebellious spirit. It became famous for its mix of pop culture, art, and fashion, often featuring bold prints, bright colors, and denim. They were a major player in the 1970s and 80s, influencing the fashion scene with its fun, youth-centric designs. Today, Fiorucci remains a symbol of creative self-expression, blending vintage influences with contemporary style.
